This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At our Title I school, almost all of my students are second language learners. Their drive to learn and achieve is amazing.

Our students have embraced transitioning to a STEAM school, and one key component is math.

My students are the face of the United States of America. Some were born in this country to English speaking parents. Some were born in the United States to Spanish or Vietnamese speaking parents. Others were born in another country and immigrated to the United States. One thing that all of my students have in common is their zest for learning. They are so wonderful in that they don't see the differences between each other.

My Project

Learning math is tough for lots of students. As adults, we have already mastered the basic facts and have memorized our multiplication tables. But students still struggle with abstract concepts.

This Daily Math Fluency Kit with Number Strings will help bridge the gap between concrete and abstract for students.

Plus, it's fun to play math games.

My third graders have been immersed in Common Core math since kindergarten, but many still need lots of extra practice to master those basic facts. While having your fingers available at all times is convenient, many students need to get past that dependency. Help us master our facts in a fun and exciting way in the classroom.
