My Project

My students are a joy for me because I learn so much from them. I love that despite my students coming from lower-income backgrounds, they come to school eager to learn. Most come from diverse backgrounds, so we have many enriched discussions and educate each other on different cultures and holidays. I believe in a comfortable learning environment and good humor, so we laugh often in my class.

My students have gained a love for Garfield books, so having a variety of these will help to foster a learning environment full of endless laughter and literacy!

I requested multiple copies of some books to surprise all of my students with a Garfield book to keep and take home! Louisiana summers are miserably hot and humid, so this will be a meaningful end of the year gift to encourage indoor literacy over their summer break.

The double sided tape will be used to attach pencil holders to student desks. Thank you for your support!
