We Love Bugs!

My students need Science materials, life cycles vocabulary readers, insects activity tun and book library, and elementary science instant learning center, to learn about bugs in our first grade special education classroom.

My Students

My students love to learn new things about the world we live in. They love to experience hands on activities as well as reading books about a specific subject. The children are learning about bugs this Spring and need some resources to help them learn using a variety of different approaches.

My students live in an Urban District where there is a high percentage of English Language Learners as well as a high poverty rate.

My classroom is a specialized class for students with a variety of Special Needs such as Autism, Developmental Delays, Communication Disorders and Neurological Disorders. It is very important for my students to learn concepts in a variety of ways and to practice these concepts for several weeks in order to gain understanding.

My Project

The students in my room will use the materials in both small and large groups. The hands on manipulative and Science Kit for Bugs will be invaluable to differentiate the instruction for the students. In the kits they have a variety of activities in Language Arts, Arts and Crafts, Science, etc. This will allow for the students to experience all concepts in a variety of ways. The books will reinforce the concepts we are learning.

This project will make a huge difference in my classroom.

It allows my students to experience Science and Hands on Activities that, unfortunately, a lot of them are unable to experience out of the school.
