My Students

My school is in an urban area and it is classified as a low-performing school due to attendance and low test scores. Our school is able to provide us with some items to create projects, however resources are limited.

We are learning and growing in our Early Childhood Developmentally Delayed Classroom.

The students in my class have all been diagnosed with a disability. They range in age from 3 to 5. Although there are many activities we struggle with, we enjoy arts and crafts and we love creating things to show what we have learned.

My Project

Purchasing a Cricut for my classroom will allow my students the opportunity to create arts and crafts projects to display around the classroom and their homes. It will also help us create cards and gifts for parents. The students in my class are working on their fine motor skills, many students have disabilities that make it difficult to grasp scissors and crayons, so it's a struggle to get enough things cut out for projects.

Although our school has a manual die cut machine, we only have a few dies for the machine, so it's difficult to express our creativity.

With a Cricut the students can glue items cut with the machine on their papers to enhance their coloring when making special projects.
