My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my main goal is to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.

They like to move, they love to make art and love lots of positive attention. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My students are me 20 years ago. They are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. I want to be the best for them!

My Project

My students are always excited to come to art class and learn about new things. With your help I’m able to provide them with the materials and ideas necessary to provide them with a top notch art education.

Seeing their faces light up when we have new and exciting materials to explore is one of my favorite things.

Ideas are always endless in our classroom and creating is so important to their education and their development as they journey to becoming the best children and young adults that they can be. Having tissue paper, short handled brushes for our little scholars, or the correct cups to distribute materials is important to me and important to my scholars.
