Help me give my students fishing poles so they can learn to fish.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Hitchcock's classroom raised $573

My Project
Living on Coney Island, our little school is surrounded by ocean. There is plenty of public access to great fishing areas, and I myself fish most days. There is even a bait and tackle store across the street. My students have often asked to join me, so this year, I decided to start a fishing program.
My school services low-income minority scholars.
Finances and access to places to buy affordable equipment are limited. Still, there is a wonderful community of local anglers and teaching the scholars how to fish and participate in this wonderful sport would make a huge difference both in the classroom and to their involvement in the community and stewardship for local beach ecosystems.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
