Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school celebrates diversity. We accept people as they are. All people are welcome, all cultures, all genders, all beliefs, all religions, all orientations, and all ages.

Our district encourages everyone to accept people as they are.

I work with students with unique needs who are working on meeting their individual education goals. My students are working on improving their social skills and flexibility. They are learning perspective taking skills. My students are learning that people have thought and feeling about the things we do. I encourage them to be a part of the group and follow directions.

I am always excited when students are engaged in their learning. Our school uses Positive Behavior Intervention Supports to reward students for making good choices. My students earn points in class when they are being active participants in their learning. Students trade participation points for PBIS rewards from our classroom prize area.

The items in this project include hand warmers, blankets and Warm Pals stuffed animals. All the items in this project are PBIS rewards. The Warm Pals stuffed animals in this project are special! The Warm Pals stuffed animals can be microwaved and stay warm for two hours. Warm Pals stuffed animals give the person holding the plush animal the sensation of a warm hug. The blankets in this project are lined with soft material that provides a warm and calming sensation. Once activated the hand warmers stay warm for 10 hours. Holding warm things is soothing and therapeutic.

These hand warmers, blankets and stuffed animals are PBIS rewards that will reward my students for making good choices. Every items in this project will be given to students. Students can use these PBIS rewards at school or home. All the items in this project will give my students warmth and joy.
