I love that when my students see me in the hallway, they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also asked what project they would do next and couldn't wait to attend art class. My students are unique because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts.
I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors that help bring happiness.
I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies, which help my students feel calm, joyous, and relaxed. They are enthusiastic learners.
I have requested sketch books for my amazing art students who wish to advance in art.
I have many art students who have expressed an interest to continue learning about art and continue taking classes in middle and high school.
I remind my students to advance in the arts and technology they need to practice.
I also remind my students there are many careers related in art liking coding, creating apps, designing clothes and more. They realize the importance of practicing and enjoy working and practicing sketching ideas in the special sketch books I requested.
For many of my students it will be their first real sketch book to have access to.
