I have an amazing class of seventeen active and ambitious first graders who come from very diverse backgrounds. My students are always eager to learn and love coming to school. I feel we have had a tight bond and we are like family! We are always learning to be kind and compassionate learners! We work hard and get a lot of things accomplished during our day! They are very active so it helps to include lots of movement throughout the day!
My Project
I have taught younger elementary students for 10 years and something I have learned along the way is that kids learn, and are more engaged through hands on learning. They love to play and learn when they are having fun! The materials I chose can be used for writing centers to practice letters, sight words, and basic sentence skills. They will help me teach in a more engaging approach. I can demonstrate writing with the giant magnetic stripes to teach using correct line formation. Modeling the correct ways is the best way for students to learn. These materials will only help my teaching and improve my students learning!
