My Students
I teach 7th and 8th grade Reading and English in a rural area in Oklahoma where the majority of our students are on free or reduced-price lunches.
My students are very bright and love to learn.
They deserve so much more than I can provide on my own.
My Project
With the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic added to an already difficult time in their school careers, my students are needing flexible seating and the ability to move while they learn. Hours a day spent sitting in a traditional desk make it hard to concentrate for most middle school kids.
Bike workstations and flexible seating such as lap desks, a stand up desk, and balance boards will help my students to be able to concentrate and learn.
As well as regular education students, I teach many students with special needs and ADHD who would also benefit from these options in my classroom.
