Help me give my students the opportunity to use a pedometer so that they are able to accurately track, record and meet their movement goals while in PE.

My Students
I teach physical education to more than 400 students in grades K-5. We are a Title I public school and the majority of my students come from low income families, that may not have the resources to provide additional opportunities for physical activity outside of what they receive in school.
I strive to help my students to work towards being the best version of themselves each day and encourage them to find an activity they love.
I truly believe that teaching students at a young age the importance of healthy living through daily activity, exercise, proper nutrition, sleep and stress management provides a solid foundation for the rest of their life.
My Project
During the course of the year my students learn about the importance of staying physically active and are encouraged to meet a daily of goal of 60 minutes of activity a day. I encourage them to find an activity, sport or exercise they love to help them meet this goal.
Pedometers can assist the students in attaining their goal by providing real time feedback on how many steps they are actually taking while in class.
The data the students are able to gather form their trackers can be logged and will help them with assessing their progress and establishing future goals to work towards.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
