My students need fun games to make learning fun, interactive, and get them moving. Games like Giant Jenga and Jumbo Bananagrams are great for teaching math and practicing word work.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I will have about 26 students in my class this year. I have a ton of ideas for getting students to move while learning. Most of these activities work well with the task cards I've been using with previous classes that cover all content areas. I've played games like Scoot and Boom, but would love to provide ample opportunities for them to move.
Often, my kidlettes ask if we can go outside to work.
I'd love to take them out more often, but don't have the necessary tools. If I can provide them with giant board games, we could take the cards out to play.
My Project
We want to have fun while we're learning. Sitting in a classroom all day at the same desk becomes monotonous, but if we can play a board game or go outside and play against another team and learn at the same time, we will enjoy each subject that much more.
We know that we learn better when we are moving. Please take a moment to think back to your childhood and your educational experience.
What do you truly remember? Our teacher remembers the hands-on activities and the experiences she had at camp as a young girl. We can go home everyday with a smile on our faces knowing we learned as much as possible, and sometimes didn't even realize it!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
