My Project
My students love to read, but they do not always have easy access to books. Many of my students are English Language Learners and the more exposure to reading materials in English, the more practice they will have speaking the language, especially if the books are of high interest. Having these books will be the start to my students and other students at my school having the access they need to reading at home. These books will go in our book vending machine for students to choose from when they exhibit our school expectations: respectfulness, organizational skills, acceptance, and responsibility.
"Reading books also reduces stress, helps you sleep better, improves health, develops your imagination and above all: it is just fun to do" (Youngreadersfoundation.org) and having students make a choice in the books they read will create lifelong readers.
Reading is a magical adventure and and what better way to start that adventure by supplying our students with books from our book vending machine.
