This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school year began on September 1. This year I will be teaching a dynamic set of second graders. The great thing about my class is how they are already motivated to learn. Each one was excited yet nervous to start school. It is a beginning of a school year like no other, but this group of second graders are already shining stars.
My Project
In the past, I have copied Daily Language and Daily Math Practice for students. It is a great resource to give a quick mini-lesson on a new concept and/or review a concept that has already been taught. This summer I found a great resource that is a consumable book for each student. The Daily Language Practice Journal covers what is in English Language Arts; phonics, vocabulary, grammar, conventions, reading comprehension, and writing. The Daily Math Practice Journal covers key concepts in math; number & operations in base 10, operations & algebraic thinking, measurement & data, geometry, 2-step word problems, math computation, and problem solving.
