Help me give my students and I engaging books to read and learn from!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dulin's classroom raised $862
This project is fully funded
My Students
My kiddos are 5th graders and sometimes take some persuasion to LOVE reading! 100% of my students are economically disadvantaged and so many of the books we have in our library are old and/or not engaging to their interests and experiences. The classroom library that I inherited when I came into the classroom has many great titles but I want to enhance it even more. I will also being teaching twice as many kiddos this next year- 62 to be exact! I could not be more excited but want to step up my library game! just not enough for 62 kids. I want to make sure that all the kids can choose from a plethora of engaging and jump off the shelf at me books!
My job is not only to teach the students HOW to read, but more importantly how to motivate them to become lifelong readers and thinkers.
I appreciate your generosity to this most recent project!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the rich classroom library that I strive to create. I want to make my classroom library a place that my students really enjoy. All of these books (student and teacher) have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few months of school read titles just like some of these, and I have asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books that peak their interest, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a ton of books that allow them to read independently at their own reading level. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
