Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school are very sweet and come from very diverse homes. Our classroom is a safe place to be a learner. Our students love to create, build, learn, share, grow and so much more. They have such inquiring minds and come to school with few, or very different experiences. The dynamic of our TK classroom is very special. We have a combination of special needs students, as well as general education students. They will be exposed at such a young age to breaking barriers and making friendships with peers that are not quite like them. It will be my 1st year teaching ETK and I am determined to make it the absolute best!
My Project
These materials will be used for our indoor and outdoor dramatic play areas. They will be able to pretend play and learn from each other. Kids learn best when they are hands-on, so what better way to help them grow than through pretend microwaves, refrigerators and playhouses.
Our students are in a unique situation where we mainstream and share a play area with 3 others classes, so these materials will not only benefit our class but other special needs classes!
Indoors we are so lucky to have a large area so the new rug and fruit cart will be the perfect addition to our dramatic play area.
