This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a group of wonderful, intelligent, and curious little preschoolers in the Los Angeles area. My students are a part of a special day program called PALS (Preschool For All Learners) which helps support mild to moderate disabilities. My students love hands-on and engaging projects that help them think outside the box. They come to school ready and eager to learn new things and challenge themselves academically!
My Project
These materials will be impactful for the students learning! Children in this age group use their hands and interact with their peers to expand their understanding. Students in my classroom are still trying to develop their fine motor skills and the materials that are needed will help them work towards this goal. Having my students complete task with puzzles will not only help them with their fine motor skills but also support other developmental areas as well. All these materials are needed in the classroom to help replace old, worn, and missing pieces of materials that are currently in the classroom.
These materials will help my students develop their social-emotional skills and support their cognitive development.
Students will work together to help complete puzzles. This will help them expand their communications skills. Using some of the materials in the water and sand tables will support the students to work together!
