This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember when you first fell in love with books?
I teach 22 awesome kindergarteners in a high-needs school.
More than 95% of our school is served by the free or reduced lunch program. Many of my students come from homes without a single book in them. Many of my students have not been read to before they start school.
My Project
These amazing books will make a tremendous impact in the lives of my students. These books will introduce them to great characters in children's literature. This will motivate my students to want to read and explore books, books and more books. These books will expose my students to concepts of print and allow them to start developing their comprehension skills.
A donation to this project will put us one step closer to getting books into my students hands.
It will enable them to gain a love for books which will only lead to endless possibilities that will positively effect their entire lives.
