My school is a magnet school with an emphasis on high-ability learners, dual immersion, and S.T.E.A.M learning. It's set in a rural community, but it's open to students district-wide. This year I am teaching both 4th and 5th grades - one ALP class and one traditional class.
Every student has a spark that I want to ignite and let burn bright.
They love to create and learn. Their imaginations are amazing, and supplies and resources foster and encourage those imaginations to flourish; they support my students as they create and learn. After all, kids are worth it.
My Project
I do not have classroom headphones they are able to use while at school. Most earbuds break easily.
Students need headphones in order to HEAR successfully while on a Chromebook without disturbing others.
These headphones are school quality, and they can be easily sanitized using alcohol wipes. I plan on keeping them in a headphone basket that is accessible to students. Sanitizing wipes will be placed next to the basket, and they will be taught how to clean them after each use. Students will take ownership of classroom materials and help keep them nice.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
