it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 50 1st and 2nd-grade students are looking for ways to advance their art skills beyond crayons and markers. It would be nice to have more options for them. What to do? That's where you come in!
I would like them to start learning how to use watercolors, pastels, and clay to advance their visual arts lessons that I always tie into language arts, history, and even science.
We've been distance learning since August and I think this will pique their interest more during our Zoom time! They are very talented with crayons and markers and I think we can learn a lot together using different mediums. Thank you!
My Project
My 50 1st and 2nd-grade students have been enjoying our pencil and paper art lessons but I would like to give them an opportunity to work with other mediums such as watercolor paints and clay. They have been distance learning since August and I want to keep them engaged during the art lessons while we are at home learning.
In this project, I am also requesting rulers so that families can make straight lines for the children to practice their handwriting skills since some of the families run out of lined writing paper quickly.
The Crayola clay is perfect for future projects that go beyond just writing and drawing on paper and the children get to enjoy making something with their hands. In the classroom, we use oil pastels for special occasions to do resist artwork with the watercolors and I would like to continue that while we are not face to face in the classroom. The children will love it, especially my English Language Learners who use art to communicate.
