This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My student love to get their hands on all the books available in our classroom library, but one book that they always reach for is "A Bad Case of Stripes."
Like any Kindergarten student, my students are eager to learn and they really do enjoy a good book.
This book in particular has been a favorite from the first time I read it in August! The few paperback copies that I have available are showing signs of wear and tare.
My Project
At this time in their Kindergarten careers, my students are beginning to read. You can often see them sitting in small groups, independently, or with a partner while reading a book. It does not surprise me when the book they are reading is A Bad Case of Stripes. My students are mesmerized with the character Camila and the trouble she goes through after she gets a bad case of stripes.
Having their own copy of the book "A Bad Case of Stripes" to treasure over the years will surely bring joy to my Kindergarten students.
Your kind donations will make it possible for my Kindergarten students to continue to be inspired in learning and will also help support their current love for reading.
