We Gotta Have Art!

My students need daily art supplies such as color construction paper, crayons, glitter glow, glue sticks, markers, and paint dabbers.

My Students

I teach Preschool in an large, urban district. My school is a high-needs elementary school where over 90% of the children qualify for free and reduced price lunches.

Most of the Preschoolers in my classroom are English language learners.

They are the newest students to school, and once they get use to the routine, they absolutely love coming to school. I teach a curriculum called High Scope. This curriculum is based on adult/child interaction and student interest. Many children love to come to the art area to express their creative voice. I need to have plenty of art supplies available for them to allow them to do so. These art supplies not only will enhance their interest, but will also allow them to explore the ideas that have been formed in their minds and express them the way they want to.

My Project

At work time, the class is allowed to visit different areas of the room and work on what interests them. Many of them show their creativity and individuality in the art area. By having materials for them to use such as different color construction paper, glitter glow, markers and paint dabbers, they can express their creativity using their own style. Who knows what they can create? With these supplies, I will be excited to see new worlds open up to mu students.

My classroom supplies from past years are almost gone.

What I do have is very minimal, and comes out of my pocket. With your donation to thisk, there will be more supplies that are different from what we have. Students will be able to take art into an entirely different direction.
