Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hi my name is Bonnie and my speech therapy class consists of 52 students from different cultures with various learning disabilities and communication disorders. My sweet school is located in a diverse community where the majority of my students come from low-income families, with limited resources. Our school is undergoing renovations and furniture replacement this summer, and we need to move everything out of our classrooms. Packing up a years’ worth of therapy materials, supplies, and learning tools is overwhelming, especially when it needs to be done quickly and safely.
A folding handtruck and durable storage bins can make a big difference in our classroom by improving organization, efficiency, and accessibility for both me and my students.
Here are a few ways my students and I will be able to utilize the requested items.
1. Easy Transport of Materials:
The folding handtruck allows for easily moving heavy or bulky items—like books, therapy games, STEM supplies, and speech therapy materials between storage areas, classrooms, or even outside for special projects or activities.
2. Streamlined Organization:
Durable storage bins help keep classroom supplies and therapy materials neatly sorted and easy to access. The bins will reduce clutter and make it easier for students and I to find what we need independently.
3. Saves Time and Reduces Stress:
Having everything organized and easily movable means less time setting up and more time for instruction or hands-on learning. It also reduces physical strain for you when moving materials around.
These items won’t just be used for this move, they’ll continue to help transport materials to events, rearrange the room for flexible learning, and keep our space organized year-round.
