My Project
I’ve worked as a music specialist in the Jersey City Public Schools for over five years, and I am excited to begin teaching music at PS #26 beginning in September. The elementary school is located in the Heights section of Jersey City, New Jersey.
Our school is a welcoming home that serves a diverse student population.
Over 475 students in PreK through grade 5 attend our school. About 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
This project will provide us with some fun lollipop drums and hand drums for music class. Drumming helps teach students a variety of musical concepts, such as keeping a steady beat, and the concept of loud vs. soft sounds. My students will surely love playing these drums as they learn the universal language of music.
