My Project
Multiple times a week I use picture books during my instruction. I use them to discuss writing and parts of literature (comprehension). Over the past 15 years, I have noticed a growth in my students. They love reading! It is one of our favorite parts of the day - when we get to discover another picture book together.
Students fall in love with reading with a fantastic picture book.
I also have my picture books on display. This helps those reluctant readers find interest in books again and help them grow in reading.
Picture books have truly transformed my classroom as a reading teacher. I found my love of teaching through them and I believe it has transformed my students. I believe continuing to add more themed books into my library will allow my students to become better readers as they gain more knowledge!
