This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The California Department of Education just came out with a new list of recommended books every high school library should consider owning and so I cross referenced the list to my current collection and put together a profile for the books on the list that our library doesn't already have. It is my hope that introducing my students to these new books will inspire my readers who already love the written word and will encourage others to begin discovering the magic of literature! I am reassured that if these books are on a governmental list vetted by top legislative librarians, they are books that would enrich and empower the lives of my students!!! Moreover, I consulted the American Library Association's list of popular books and a few other reputable book lists. I can't wait to share these titles with my patrons!
