My Project

Books are being challenged right now everywhere. Many students, with parent support, are interested in reading banned books. They want to ask hard questions. They want to understand the world, the people, and the peers around them; they want to read everything.

In our classroom libraries, we do not ban books and we support all readers.

We state this proudly to all and would love to be able to better support this statement with honest and true books that have been banned on our shelves. As teaching partners, we would like to offer a bookshelf in each of our classrooms that offer a variety of banned books, for interested readers. The small colorful poster above the shelf will help students to know that the books on that bookshelf have been challenged and/or banned in some form or another.
