Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students need alternative seats while sitting in our large group area, small group tables, and reading area. Donating to this project will help me to provide a way for students to be able to move around quietly, getting the movement they need, while allowing them to pay attention to instruction.
My students are very young and they simply cannot sit still.
It's not fair of me to expect them to do so. Placing bands on some of our chairs will help many students during small group and meal times while sitting at the tables. The bean bag chairs will be placed in our reading area, to make it more comfortable for everyone. The exercise balls, while they do take some time to get used to, provide an excellent way to allow students to move around and improve their core muscles while sitting at large group.
My large group carpet does not have defined spaces for students, so the hexagonal pillows will be used to help students know where to sit while we are at large group times.
