Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have students every year who are looking for good books to read. Most of my students don't have personal books to practice reading at home. So when they come to a classroom that has a selection of good books, they are excited to read! My students have lots of energy and want to move while they learn, so having stools that wobble while they focus would be amazing. My students need more small group instruction than ever before, so having hands-on letters to form words that are used in our writing will be helpful. Students also need time outside playing together at recess. They missed out on some social skills that were crucial at an early age, so I'm hoping to show them how outdoor team games like four square and jumping rope can help. And last but not least, my learners are growing as writers, they need a sharp pencil to write with daily. I hope that this pencil sharpener will be the last pencil sharpener I have to purchase. Again any of these donations will help our classroom thrive.
