My students need an iPad to help with some independent check in stations, scanning QR codes to complete assignments, be responsible for monitoring behavior using ClassDojo app, and being 21st century learners in student centered learning.
My third grade classroom is a place where students are being challenged to read for pleasure to help build stamina and become 21st-century writers. Students are spending time learning how to build stamina by reading for uninterrupted periods of time. They are also working on taking writing to the next level.
My students are creative, ambitious, and very energetic.
They are also fun and enthused about their learning. They have embraced the reading for pleasure and right now using flexible seating. We are moving towards more student centered activities where they can check in on their progress and self-motivate to reach their goals.
My Project
My students are working towards reaching goals this year as we are working with personalized learning within our student centered learning environment. Some students want instant feedback and the ability to use technology in a convenient way to complete tasks. Students have been completing crack the code activities and are in need of an iPad to help with scanning QR codes and learning how to manage other apps for their learning. Students will be using this iPad daily to complete tasks.
Most students are working to become self-motivated learners and this iPad will help with the process.
Students are working in a student centered environment and seem to be more engaged when the use of technology is integrated in their learning. As a goal to have more personalized learning, I want to ensure there are options for technology to be available to them at various levels of learning and growing.
