My students need Part Whole cards to help develop skills in complex math problems, along with privacy boards to help them stay focused. They also need interactive games to boost their reading skills.

My Students
I teach 30 energetic 4th grade students who come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and experiences. I have some students from low income families, some who receive free/reduced lunch, and others who have a Student Success Team. We come from a small school at the farthest end of the valley, but we have a big heart.
Fourth graders are almost done with their elementary school experience, but they still need to advance through it with fun, engaging, and useful materials.
My students love to dance, do art projects, and experience learning through hands-on activities. What they need most is an inclusive, safe environment where they feel at ease and can be ready to learn. They are a spirited bunch and are enthusiastic about learning.
My Project
All of my students want and should have the opportunity to be good writers, readers, and do well with math. But, sometimes they need a little extra help understanding those concepts. With the Visualize It!- Part Whole Math Cards, my students will get extra practice with math fluency in addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, place value, and fractions, which will help them visualize math problems by finding the missing value. Students will be able to use those cards in groups or in the privacy of their own desk with a privacy partition.
My students will be able to collaborate and communicate with the Can Do- Reading Informational Text and Parts of Speech group activities that will help them develop literacy and language skills with hands-on, interactive games.
They will develop skills in identifying the main idea of a text, making inferences, and using visual information to demonstrate understanding of the text, as well as practice skills using different parts of speech. Students will also have the opportunity to use our classroom computers to write stories and other projects as well as print them out to display on our bulletin boards.
