My Students
My PreK scholars are amazing! They are the only full day class in our school. They are eager to learn and love being in school. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school where kids feel safe, loved, and motivated.
As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity, discuss and study racial equity, and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement, and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (our school's mission statement).
My Project
My scholars are busy getting ready for kindergarten. Part of being ready for kindergarten is reading books that are at our level! We just do not have enough books to practice reading in small groups!
The Little Reader books will allow my scholars to practice early reading skills in small groups.
I know having fun and colorful stories will engage scholars and get them excited about reading. I would love for all of my scholars to see themselves as readers. Having confidence and early reading skills will really help them to prepare for kindergarten. I am so excited for these new materials!
