My Students

Our school serves a diverse community that includes many different cultures. We enjoy celebrating those cultures through music. Our students cover a wide range of learning abilities and each student is an important part of our school.

My students are eager to learn new things.

They absolutely love learning music! They love talking about it, dancing to it, and singing. For the most part, their musical experiences come from school. Many students do not have access to instruments or music lessons at home.

My Project

My 4th and 5th grade students usually learn instrumental skills by playing the recorder. This year that is not possible because of the pandemic. We need instruments that are fun, not too hard, and won't cause us to blow germs on each other.

Ukuleles will allow us to learn great musicianship while keeping safe from COVID.

We will learn how to play simple melodies and chords. Music is a great way to lift our moods and express our emotions in a productive way. Ukuleles will help us do just that.
