My Students
As a teacher in a school that serves students with many different learning styles in Pre-K through 3rd grade. My class consists of 24 students with all abilities and levels. My students range from low-income to middle-income and represent various ethnicities. Many students are hard workers but can become easily distracted. We are often very busy, using technology, and working together. We work hard every day and we love to work around the room throughout the day. My students are becoming problem solvers and are eager to try new things. They enjoy having a choice in their learning and are developing their independence every day.
My Project
Students need the opportunity to move in the classroom! Not many people like to just SIT for a good chunk of the day...certainly not third graders! Third grade is intense! We take brain breaks, have interactive lessons, and enjoy recess but, sometimes they just need a little more! Research shows a correlation between movement and the ability to retain new information.
It's important to have seating that allows students to release energy and build stamina!
Wobble chairs provide developmentally appropriate ways to safely move wiggle, and shake during their time in our class. This will increase students ability to retain information and focus on the task at hand.
