This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a vibrant set of students who have a passion for learning. There are so many characters in my classroom; I'm always excited to see where our days of learning take us.
No matter the time or place, I can always count on my students' love of art, reading, and science.
Our school is in the heart of Boyle Heights, just down the street from downtown Los Angeles. Many of our families struggle to provide their students with opportunities and resources that are necessary for them to become collaborators, communicators, and critical and creative thinkers. In our classroom, we try to bridge this gap and give them all the tools necessary for them to be the 21st-century thinkers that we need today and for years to come.
My Project
Starting our new school year remotely has been a challenge for both my students and myself as a teacher. Finding simple to use digital resources is one of those challenges.
This project will help me purchase engaging, standards-based activities, and resources for my students.
In our classroom, we have resources that are engaging and easy for students to use. Getting those resources into the hands of my students during remote learning has proven to be an obstacle. Due to restrictions and safety concerns during this pandemic I have looked for ways to provide resources and activities for my students that are completely digital. This project will help with just that.
