Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will be using the 3D printer and accompanying filament to create geometric modes and robotics parts. Student proposals for new design of robotics parts and modes are incomplete if they are unable to create completed, 3D versions of their solutions. The finished product will allow them to practice using computer-assisted design software, as well as experience the practice of design and gain a better understanding of geometry. Students will see their own ideas come to life and make something tangible for a project that addresses a problem present in robotics and learn how geometry is intertwine within their everyday lives and communities.

This project would significantly help my students' understanding of the design cycle.

They would see the process connect to a final product, relevant to themselves. Students can practice using design technology and experience careers related to it: robotics, architecture, graphic design, modeling, and mathematics. In the end, they will be problem-solvers, empowered to take the skills and knowledge in their class to improve their lives and those of people around them.
