Help me give my students a class set of wooden blocks to build with. The different types of blocks will work together for students to build with, and the adhesives will help organize them on the shelf.
By funding my class with a set of wood blocks, my classroom’s structured play centers will be enriched with more opportunities for hands-on learning. Blocks are a wonderful way to incorporate multiple academic areas, including literacy, math and science. Students will be able to create ramps for the NGSS standard of push vs. pull; easily identify fractions with longs vs. standard sized blocks; add labels to the buildings/homes they create. Wooden blocks have so many benefits to primary grade children. Students will collaborate and plan with peers, and be proud of their successes while learning to stabilize their towers. My students’ gross and fine motor skills will improve, as they bend, lift, squat, grip, pick up and manipulate the various sized blocks, as well as utilize our classroom’s vehicles and marbles for the ramps they’ve created. My students would love to have a creative outlet to build. With your help, my students CAN build it!!
