My 7th and 8th students are eager learners, but like many other students, they have been impacted by the Covid pandemic. They are not afraid of technology and enjoy learning how to use calculators and other forms of technology to enhance their education.
My Project
By putting a calculator in the hands of each of my middle school students, they will have the ability to do higher level math, both at school and at home. Many of my students come from low-income families and the added expense of a calculator is just not something they can afford. I want to be able to check out a calculator to each student so they will be familiar with how to use it. This will enrich their understanding of math and will help them be successful in their daily homework assignments and tests.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
