My Project

School counselors and resources for students are needed now more than ever. Over the past few years everyone has gone through a lot with the pandemic, being isolated, loss, being online for the most part and so much more. Anxiety, in many forms, including social anxiety and depression is so prevalent, especially coming out of the pandemic. I would love to be able to have resources on hand for when a student, of any age, needs it.

These social emotional learning resources are going to provide insight, help build connections with myself and other students and help them work through what they have going on in their lives.

The books I have listed are to help explain feelings and different things that students might be going through in another way. The coloring books, journals, wrecking journals, are all different things that I can tangibly give a student for them to be able to express themselves in a way that works best for them. Fidgets can help them keep focus in class and the games, mindful cards, chips, etc., are to help build rapport through one on one meetings and groups with other students. It will be beyond helpful to have these items on hand so when a situation arises, I can act quickly, help students immediately and help make them feel comforted right away.
