Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In kindergarten, learning through play and creativity is essential, not just for academic development, but for social and emotional growth as well. With this project, we aim to create a more inclusive and empowering classroom environment by combining two powerful tools: diverse dramatic play materials and multicultural art supplies.
With racially diverse dolls, different skin tone crayons, and play food from around the world, our students will have the chance to see their own identities reflected and learn about the identities of others.
These materials will live in our dramatic play center and help spark conversations about race, fairness, and family traditions in an age-appropriate way.
At the same time, our students will use multicultural crayons, markers, and paints to create self-portraits, community murals, and collaborative art that celebrates who they are. These art projects will help build confidence, language skills, and a sense of belonging.
Your support will help us teach that all skin colors are beautiful and worthy of representation and that our differences should be celebrated, not hidden.
