Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our scholars are extremely diverse learners. Many of them are learning English. We have learned that our students are incredibly creative. Learning letters and sounds while cutting and pasting can be boring. When they are given sensory objects such as kinetic sand to dig, search, and match letters to sounds they are beyond engaged and love working cooperatively together to complete tasks.
At this point in the school year we are completely out of crayons.
It's so ironic to think of a 1st grade classroom without crayons. We try our best to give what we can as teachers and we know that our students' families struggle to make ends meet.
These simple tools make all the difference in the world to our future leaders. Please help us provide our scholars with what they need so they can be successful!
