Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from high poverty and low income backgrounds. They don't get many opportunities that a lot of other kids might get. They are hardworking students just with a few more obstacles to climb.
I want to provide them with many opportunities, experiences, and the tools needed to be successful regardless of the environment that they are in.
My school does its best to provide the students with what they need, but cannot always meet the demands. We are challenged to bridge the gaps that our students may have.
My Project
My students do not get the opportunity to go to the computer lab and develop the skills that are going to be needed for this evolving world. This is our future and we have the responsibility to prepare them. Most of the kids I serve are from a low income household and many do not have the access to a desktop or a laptop away from school. The exposure that my students will get from the laptop, will allow for reinforcement of what they are learning through visual and kinesthetic learning experiences. This will allow for them to gain some skills necessary for their educational journey.
