Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my students come from lower-income families and one hundred percent of my campus receives free lunch. My students are very young and love helping me out. My students typically come from all sorts of backgrounds, things other people may not be experiencing at their homes.

Many of my little learners come to school so eager to learn.

We start school at 7:40, eat lunch at 10 am but go to school until 3:15, which makes for long afternoons for them. Students need school for social, emotional, and academic growth. Your support will allow our students to have materials and tools to foster lifelong learning. Our school is a place where they can get their needs met both emotionally and physically. I want to ensure my students feel safe and want to come to school.

I would love to have snacks available for the students to help boost their attention span in the afternoon on academics and not worry about their empty stomachs.

Having access to snacks in the classroom will enable the students to know they can rely on the classroom to have much-needed food for them. Many of my students come from homes where snacks are not usually thought about. I want some snacks on hand that I can also send home to my students for weekends and breaks. My entire campus is on free breakfast and lunch programs. Please help my little learners be awesome students!
