My students need supplies to artistically show how they can comprehend what they have read. Craft sticks, pipe cleaners, and fabric markers are only the beginning.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Parker's classroom raised $167

My Students
My first grade special education students come to school ready and eager to learn.
My students in Massachusetts are from low income households and have little access to creative arts, except for their once a week Art or Music Special.
Some students are also bilingual and trying to learn English while speaking Portuguese, Spanish, or Creole at home. My students have loved learning. I want to have them be more creative with adding various assignments to go along with our reading and math lessons.
My Project
My students will be allowed to create a scene from one of their stories using the art materials. We will use the pipe cleaners and buttons to help us solve math story problems. They will learn that there are many ways to demonstrate what they know. They don't have to use only a pencil and paper to prove they understand the lesson.
This project will provide my students the chance to show their creativity.
They will be able to use materials that have not ever used before to explore and open their minds to different types if art.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
