it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager, enthusiastic young artists. They come into the art studio willing to learn, take risks, and explore their creative potential. Through our time together, I have had the opportunity to know them as individuals. Many have come up through hardships in their childhood that are more than anyone should experience in a lifetime, yet they persevere. A large portion of my school's demographic receives free lunch and other services.
When they enter the art room, they find a space that is welcoming and supportive.
We use many of our projects to reinforce learning through their academic courses and to support STEAM in our school. My students want to be positive members of society, want to participate in problem-solving, and want to find success in their academic endeavors. My students' eagerness for learning surpasses expectations. I take honor in my role as their art teacher. I hope to inspire, motivate, and open their ideas to creative endeavors.
My Project
For this proposal, I am requesting a range of different glues that will fulfill so many of our art making needs. Glue is an important material in the art room, and many kiddos are not aware of the many different types and what they can do. I am requesting adhesives such as super glues and E6000 for our mixed media and sculptural projects. Where as, the Mod Podge and Tacky glue will come in handy during collage making. Additionally, I asked for super glue, because every art class needs some! Often to fix art work, but also comes in clutch for other needs such as broken glasses, water bottles and even backpacks! The art room is where everyone in the school goes to when they need rescuing, and the art students are always eager to help and show off their problem solving skills. With proper glue and adhesive options, my art students will learn the differences and characteristics of each glue and be able to use accordingly and efficiently.
