it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are learning English as a second language. Last year, we were very grateful for the generous support of donors who funded a project that gave us 36 sets of decodable story books.
We are ready to move to the next level of decodable texts!
My students are so proud of their progress and are ready to encounter more advanced phonetic skills such as decoding words with blends.
The Half-Pint Kids book company's decodable texts are engaging. My students enjoy the recurring characters and their interesting adventures. The phonetic skills are presented in a sequential order that builds on previous skills. We can use our classroom's Smart Board to project the same stories from the publisher's website. We are requesting multiple copies of each text in the set so that students can practice rereading the stories in cooperative groups.
