Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are puzzled! My students have completed the same puzzles over and over. With your help, we will have a supply of new puzzles to use during occupational therapy and my students will build lifelong skills.

I am an Occupational Therapist working in an inner city school district in Connecticut.

I work with more than sixty students per week in four different elementary schools. The students I work with have a variety of disabilities some of which include Autism, Cerebral Palsy, developmental delays and learning disabilities. I work every week to increase functional, fine motor/visual motor and sensory processing skills to help improve performance and participation in the classroom. This is a very challenging, but rewarding, job and I would appreciate any support to help meet the needs of these wonderful children.

My Project

I am requesting 18 new puzzles and two puzzle storage racks to use with my students during our occupational therapy sessions. My students are very motivated to complete puzzles and lucky for me they build fine motor and visual motor skills at the same time! We currently have a limited amount of puzzles and my students are losing interest in completing them. I am requesting a variety of puzzles from a five piece peg puzzle up to an interlocking floor puzzle.

All of my students will benefit from these puzzles and will be able to use them as they improve their skills and move from level to level.

The puzzle storage rack will keep our puzzles organized. I would appreciate any support you can offer
