My Project

Building visual-spatial skills in students is a great way to help them enhance their problem-solving abilities and understand the world in new ways. These skills are important for geometry and various disciplines, including art, science, engineering, and even daily life. Here are some activities and strategies you can use to help your students build their visual-spatial skills:

1.

Puzzles & Brain Teasers

Jigsaw puzzles: Start with simple ones and gradually increase the difficulty. Students have to think about how pieces fit together and how the shape of the puzzle changes as they work.

Tangrams: This classic puzzle involves rearranging geometric shapes to form a picture. It helps students understand the relationship between shapes and spatial orientation.

3D puzzles: Puzzles like Rubik's cubes or other 3D spatial puzzles challenge students to think in multiple dimensions.

We are starting with jigsaw puzzles in PreK and will build from there.
