We are Positive that We Can Make the Right Choices!
My students need books that help develop positive character choices, and award stickers for good character that is in line with our school positive behavior plan.

My Students
Students see examples of negative behavior all around them. Media, video games, and personal experiences don't always offer the best examples of how to make positive behavior choices. Research shows that is where most of our young students are spending their time. You can help change this.
Our students are in an area that is increasingly being impacted by the economy.
Most are very hardworking families, working multiple jobs so that they can stand on their own. Each year we have more and more students who have families struggling to make it, and often have to move in with relatives after job loss.
We have students that have military parents, some who have recently lost parents in service. This past veteran's day, some of the many students put together a play they designed to honor veterans. The students at our school really want to make good choices and we have a staff that is working to help guide students. Many of the staff spend hundreds of their own dollars yearly to provide materials for students and motivational rewards. They continually go above and beyond to help their students.
I really love and respect my staff and students. I want to be able to help them succeed. I would really appreciate your help.
My Project
Our students love books. The books I have chosen will allow classrooms to read and then discuss behavior and positive choices. This helps them learn to read, and at the same time, learn life skills. I have included some motivational stickers to help students know when they are making the right choices and to inspire others who see them to also make the positive behavior choices.
Our teachers share materials and coordinate activities so that this will enable many classrooms to benefit from these books. One teacher is ready to start making character videos. Having good resources to start discussions will help students visualize possible projects. We have so many great ideas, we are just waiting to get started.
School is about more than learning to read and write.
More people lose their jobs due to interactions with others than from lack of knowledge. Life skills are essential for all aspects of life. Starting early, when character is being developed and habits formed, is crucial for future job and interpersonal skills. Please consider helping us with our project.
