This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are critical thinkers who want more! Many students have had limited exposure to persevering through problem-solving and working together. They need support to thrive. They are willing to reflect, ask questions, and make mistakes.
These avid investigators are learning how to navigate the world they were given.
Every day, these students show that learning, despite challenges, is possible. They may not have made their goals yet, but they continue to amaze me with their willingness to keep moving forward.
My Project
It is so important to encourage the creative and technical learning process of students. Students will be able to use the different blocks to design and engineer buildings and other structures. The students will use the stools to work at the maker counter. Our space is tight so having a storage cart will allow students to make the most of the space. Allowing students to have access to simple items like tape and pipe cleaners fosters learning, exploration and problem solving. Our classroom has a many different kinds of learners and helping us become makers will empower those who tinker, create, fail, and redesign.
